Beginnings
The Signworks Sportswear story began in the early 1990’s when Matt Alix, then 13, began fixing his dads racecar lettering when the cars got damaged. This evolved into hand lettering numerous cars each year. At 16 he began racing himself at Holland Speedway, and later became a 3 time NASCAR Champion.
Early 90's

Early 90's
Through this journey Matt met numerous business owners through sponsorships. Technology advanced and hand painting was replaced by computer cut vinyl graphics. Matts mom and dad, Art and Janice, gave him his first loan for the computer equipment. From there, the sign business snowballed, starting with racing contacts and growing to thousands of businesses and organizations throughout Western New York.

A Start of Innovation
In 2003, Matt partnered with his parents to build the current 13,500 square foot Signworks building. They added screen printing and embroidery by purchasing another company. This acquisition turned Signworks into Signworks Sportswear.
